All in a Day’s Bitterness

May 11, 2007

While pointing to LGBT successes at the state level that HRC’s work helped to make possible, Andrew Sullivan continues to spew venom at the organization. That’s so typical of him.

Why does he fail to mention that HRC’s electoral work in partnership with state advocacy groups helped to make possible safe schools and non-discrimination laws in Iowa, a civil unions law in New Hampshire, a domestic partnership and non-discrimination laws in Oregon? Is it because acknowledging the good work that HRC does will make bare his increasingly shrill accusations?

Too bad he doesn’t allow comments on his blog. That would make it far too easy for others to call him out when he makes a mistake.

Despite occasionally being an effective spokesman for equality, Sullivan can never really move past the fact that he’s a conservative, and will usually do what it takes to aid conservatives and destroy everybody else.

    I think that’s called schizophrenia.

Andrew Sullivan is simply the “go-to-gay” for conservatives. He has become irrelevant. I can’t believe that anyone takes him seriously anymore, or cares what he has to say about anything. His “blog,” unlike yours or AmericaBlog, or TowleRoad is simply self-aggrandizement–advertising for the commodity Andrew Sullivan–and should be treated as such.
