Hypocrite

July 10, 2007

That’s the word that should be used to describe Republican “family values” rhetoric bleating Senator David Vitter of Louisiana whose number appeared in the records of the D.C. Madam. That’s right, Vitter who aggressively advocated an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to ban same-sex couples from marrying was a few years ago was consorting with a hooker.

How very Ted Haggard of him.

Here is what Vitter had to after the D.C. Madam a.k.a Deborah Jeane Palfrey made here phone records publicly available:

“This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible,” Vitter said in the statement. “Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there _ with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way.”

Here is what he had to say as a member of the House of Representatives and Senate candidate:

“This is a real outrage. The Hollywood left is redefining the most basic institution in human history, and our two U.S. Senators won’t do anything about it.

We need a U.S. Senator who will stand up for Louisiana values, not Massachusetts’s values. I am the only Senate Candidate to coauthor the Federal Marriage Amendment; the only one fighting for its passage. I am the only candidate proposing changes to the senate rules to stop liberal obstructionists from preventing an up or down vote on issues like this, judges, energy, and on and on.” stated David Vitter.

Vitter says in his statement admitting that his number was in the D.C. Madam’s rolodex that out of respect for his family he wants to keep the between them and God. Of course, last year when the Senate was preparing to vote on the Federal marriage Amendment, he was song a different anti-gay tune saying to CNN “I don’t believe there’s any issue that’s more important than this one. I think this debate is very healthy, and it’s winning a lot of hearts and minds. I think we’re going to show real progress.”

Well, we haven’t seen much progress on the issue. Just more of the same as Republican leaders like Vitter, Newt Gingrich, Rudy Guiliani and John McCain continue talk loudly about protecting the “sanctity of marriage” from same-sex couples while engaging in adultery and multiple marriages.

I’ll tell you what else is hypocritical… that’s to jump all over Republicans who cheated on their wives, yet defend at all cost the Democrat President of the United States.

Thankfully you’re not among those hypocrites, after all, you wouldn’t want to be a brainwashed idiot who follows orders on what to think.

L.C., at what point did you see me “defend at all cost” a Democratic president? I am guessing that you are referring to Bill Clinton.

My point is that Vitter along with Gingrich, Guiliani and McCain all oppose me being able to marry the person that I choose saying that it would violate the sanctity of marriage while they were either committing adultery, engaging with prostitutes and marrying their cousins. It flat out hypocritical and its wrong.

yet defend at all cost the Democrat President of the United States.

    Weezy, chill.

I thought the president is a Repug? Isn’t Bush a Repug? What did I miss?

Are you referring back to Clinton and his Oval Office blowjobs? If so, the premise of your argument is flawed. The point is, many of the Repug Congressmen that bleeted loudest about impeaching Clinton were engaged in adulterous hanky-panky with mistresses.

The GOP Papa Club included Gingrich, Hyde, Livingston, Barr, and McCain. These hypocritical Repugs all wanted Clinton removed and they were engaged in the very same behavior.

    Just keeping it real, Weezy.
