Mark Foley Enabler Dennis Hastert Retires
August 14, 2007
First came word that Karl Rove is resigning and now comes the awesome news that Rep. Dennis Hastert will not be running for re-election in 2008. Hastert, you may remember, sat silently by for years while Mark Foley engaged in disgusting and unethical behavior towards congressional pages. Check out the YouTube clip below of Hastert trying to blame the Foley scandal on the Democrats when all along it was Republicans, with the exception gay former congressional staffers Kirk Fordham and Jeff Trandahl, who enabled Foley to continue his improper behavior.
For details check out the House Ethics Committee Report.
As my friend Lane Hudson says “its about damn time he left the House of Representatives.”
Good riddance Denny. You have done a heckuva job in ramming through Bush policies that have harmed the country, further divided the American people and benefitted the rich over the rest of us. We will be left keeping up your mess for decades to come.

I’m just wondering…
Is it, as other bloggers suggest, the stink of the DC Madam scandal that is getting closer and closer to many of these people? More than a few have thought that it might be Larry Flynt is about to break down his door.
Whatever it may be, good riddance to old trash.

I don’t think that we can count Rove out. He may be resigning from the White House, but he will be around sowing political mischief and spreading negativity.
