My word, is Republican Florida state representative Bob Allen ever going to get his story straight about why he offered an undercover police oral sex and twenty bucks?

First, he claimed that he didn’t do it. Then, he claimed that he was so scared of being in the men’s room with big, stocky Black men that he felt compelled to drop to his knees and open his wallet. Now, he’s saying that he only went into the men’s room to escape an impending lightening storm.

According to the report, Allen said he went to the bathroom to avoid a lightning storm that was about to start.

The undercover officer went into a stall next to Allen’s. Allen knocked on the officer’s stall door to ask if he was all right.

Allen told Lau he was afraid he was going to be robbed and agreed to the sex act so that he could reach the KSC security gate where a guard would be located. The nearest gate, across the Max Brewer Bridge, is several miles from the park.

Mmmkay.

Allen also appeared twice before the North Brevrad County branch of the NAACP to explain his comments about being afraid of becoming a “statistic” because there were Black men in the restroom. Where, among other things, he says that he now understands that “the civil rights movement was about more than the fight for racial equality” it was also about “about judicial fairness and protection.”

How convenient to discover that now that he is facing court proceedings. The kicker is that Allen has a record of sponsoring legislation against public sex.
