Rudy Guiliani Panders to Anti-Gays
October 9, 2007
There was a time when Rudy Guiliani voiced support for LGBT Americans usually when he was running for mayor of NYC, but not anymore. The Guiliani of late has been backtracking on his past support for LGBT issues including civil unions faster than Michael Jackson used to moon walk back in the ’80s. Now comes word that he will be attending the Family Research Council’s Value Voters Summit.
The FRC, you will remember, is the organization led by the oh so gay looking Tony Perkins whose only value seems to be hating on the gays. The group has come out vocally against any kind of legal protections for LGBT Americans including its most recent hate alert opposing ENDA.
If this legislation passes, it will mainstream homosexuality and transgenderism and provide “homosexual” activists a legal tool for punishing employers who do not approve of this lifestyle. In addition, small businesses, schools, non-profit groups, hospitals, clinics, counseling centers, even certain religious institutions would be required to hire homosexuals, bisexuals and “transgendered” persons. An employer’s faith, moral view, the sensitivity of their work or service or the makeup of their clientele is of no consequence. Private schools, daycare centers, scouting organizations and quasi-religious organizations will not be exempt.
As Good As You points out, the Value Voters Summit will feature a who’s who of homo-hates including James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Gary “Mary Cheney is a hedonistic lesbian” Bauer and Harry Jackson, the white right’s favorite Black man.
The folks at the Value Voters Summit may need to watch the video clip below of Guiliani dressed in (bad) drag being accosted by Donald Trump.
