Exactly what kind of “change” is Barack Obama embracing as he campaigns in South Carolina with anti-gay gospel singer Donnie McClurkin on his Embrace the Change tour?
Obama has made strong statements in support of LGBT civil rights which makes his association with McClurkin confusing. McClurkin has previously vowed to battle “the curse of homosexuality.” He also believes that a gay people can become straight through religious intervention.
McClurkin, who has detailed his with struggle with gay tendencies, also performed at the Republican National Convention in 2004.
I get that Obama is in a tight race against Hillary Clinton in South Carolina for African-American votes, but this is not the way to go about that.
